The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering was founded in March 2000 as the Department of Computer, Telecommunications and Network Engineering, it accepted its first students in September of the same year and in June 2013 it was renamed the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering.

The aim of the Department is to promote the science and technologies of Information Technology, Circuits and Electronics, Telecommunications and Energy and to prepare, through teaching and research, Engineers with all the necessary resources, morally and technologically, that will allow them to successfully participate in postgraduate study programs, support the design and implementation of Electrical, Information Technology and Telecommunications projects, while they will be able to follow the developments in these constantly evolving fields.

The Department’s Undergraduate Studies Program (B.S.) covers a wide range of Informatics, Circuits and Electronics, and Telecommunications, allowing, at the same time, students to be trained in Energy issues, delving into the directions:

(a) Applications and Foundations of Computer Science,

(b) Software and Information Systems Technologies,

(c) Computer Hardware,

(d) Signals, Telecommunications and Networks, and

(e) Energy.

The directions have been chosen based on the long-term experience of the Department’s advisory committee and the needs of the labor market at national and international level.

At the same time, it is possible to enroll in management, entrepreneurship and teaching courses, with the aim of acquiring knowledge, particularly valuable in the labor market.

The study program is equal and equivalent to the Integrated Master’s Degree in the Department’s specialty, level 7 of the National and European Qualifications Framework.

At the same time, the Department offers the possibilities of attending Doctoral Studies leading to the acquisition of a Doctoral Diploma and conducting Postdoctoral Research. For more information, visit the postdoctoral research page.
